A Great Week in Newquay
Having just returned from a wonderful holiday in Cornwall I felt compelled to put into words just what was so magical about our experience.
Having been to Cornwall many years ago 2on a family holiday with my parents I was expecting your typical bucket and spade holiday but I was amazed at how much more Cornwall had to offer now. I had booked some flights to Newquay and our plan was to stay in and around the popular holiday spot. When we arrived we were met from the plane by Mark, the owner of the bed and breakfast owner who had kindly agreed to meet us off the plane. It was a great re-introduction to the place after all the years it had been since I had been here. The place had changed so much, and just from what I saw out of the car window I could tell that this was going to be a totally different experience to the last holiday of mine in Newquay!
When we got to the B and B I was pleased to see that there was a wireless internet connection, and I got the laptop out to have a look for places for us to visit. I came across a great Newquay guide which gave me loads of pointers. I was particularly interested in some of the coastal walks we would be able to do and I managed to find out a bit more about this. I was also looking for some information about what might be happening in the town during the week of our stay so I had a quick look at the Newquay tourism website, which had live music listings and plenty more besides.
I was pleased to have found some good information about what we could do in town but I was really looking forward to doing a bit of exploring. I had fond memories of some beautiful little coves within touching distance of Newquay, and My wife and I set off in the hire car the next morning to see what we could find. Within only a few miles of Newquay we came across one of the most beautiful beaches I had ever seen. We had to do some trekking through a field to get there, but once we found it, we had the beach to ourselves to whole day! It really was a wonderful find and we ended up back there nearly every day. There is so much on offer in Newquay but sometimes the best things in life are free!
